I got a phone call about two weeks ago from my brother, Andrew. He told me that during his upcoming trip home he was going to propose to his partner, Nicole, and asked if I could take photos of it and if I had any ideas for good photos and this image came to mind.
He and I scoped it out Monday night and he was really happy with it. Then came the lie - no, fib. He told Nicole that I was going to meet them for a lunch time walk around Signal Hill. As they meandered around Deadman's Pond waiting for me I stayed in the gravel parking lot closer to the visitor interpretation centre. Everything went according to plan and Mumbies took a knee and popped the question, and Nicole said yes.
Andrew told me after that he could barely speak while kneeling down, and if you know him at all you know that it's a big deal when he's speechless. Nicole, only you can do that.
I am so happy he included me in his plans, and I am so happy I was able to give these photos to them as a gift. The photos are actually in colour, but fitting in with the theme I exported bw versions for the blog.
When we were scoping out the spots we weren't sure which angle/location was better so I told him to propose at one location and then as they were continuing on the trail to stop at the second location for a smooch. The colours of the row houses really pop in both. Congratulations you two!
