While on the west coast I attended the Flat Bay powwow. The sacred cultural event attracted a few thousand people on Saturday while we were there. It was an honour to attend the powwow and observe a proud people celebrate.
There were three, maybe four, wikuoms set up on the far end of the field. While this one was solid blue, the others had a number markings. While beautiful, I wasn't sure what the markings meant. Also, I liked the way the light fell on this solid colour.
I'm looking forward to attending the Miawpukek Powwow in Conne River at the end of the month.
