It was sunny and warm when I first got on Signal Hill Saturday morning. No more than 30 minutes passed and it was overcast and several degrees cooler. It was still a rather nice morning with little-to-no wind.
But then again, any morning on this side of the flowers is a good morning.
Why do wild flowers get such a bad rap when they're on people's lawns? To some degree I get mowing the grass to make it look clean, but what makes a weed a weed? A field of buttercups or dandelions is beautiful, throw in some clover and some lupins and suddenly a boring-ish green field is full colour. Some people spend great time, money and energy to rid their lawns of such colour and I never really understood that. I'm guessing it's because the weeds aren't part of their landscaping plan? That's cool, but I dunno, I'm down with wildflowers on the lawn.
